Wow it worked - heres a photo of the KL Skyline from the top of the KL Tower - im going to add a few more photos - but I think im going to add them to previous posts so that they go with the story as it were - so check back at previous posts and you may find some
INTERACTIVE...
Then the 12th we left Ko Pha Ngan - shame really it was lovely and a lot more chilled than our next port of call - the very touristy and hectic Chaweng beach on Ko Samui

We got the ferry across at 12.00 and went looking for accomodation
walking down the beach we found a swimming pool with a little overhanging waterfall down onto the beach.
We looked at each other and decided we had to check out prices
Wandering up to the reception past the restaurant and beach bar, through the landscaped garden and past the pagodas where Thai Massage was being performed up to the oak panneled reception area with a Cathay Pacific desk and International Newspapers in the lounge - we kind of thought we probably werent going to be able to afford it..
Fair play to Julia though because she persevered and they offered us a discount low season rate (which was still pricey ish but for a pool and hot showers and a TV and all the other mod cons we were more than happy to pay - they even provided nice toilet roll!)

So we were staying at the Chaweng Villa Resort

While the guys had a dip Jules and I went for some lunch at a local restaurant round the corner and bumped into her friend Nee who she had met the last time she was on Samui - Nee worked on the beach giving massages and the like.

Chaweng is a pretty sleazy place after dark - although not compared to other places in Thailand I am told - but that evening we headed for sleaze
First Jules took us to the Cabaret show - all performed by Ladyboys
Quite an eye opener at first but to be honest only a couple of them really look feminine and once you have got over the initial novelty value its really just a cabaret show - and quite dull
The amusement came from Dan - he was sat in the aisle and kept getting harrassed by the "girls" serving drinks - he made a particular impression on one who kept coming back (and we saw her in the club later as well...)

So we left early and were heading down to the main Club (the Green Mango)
When James dragged us into a Go Go Bar
imagine 15 very bored looking Thai girls swinging half heartedly on poles wearing skimpy outfits and then imagine it being extremely boring
None of the girls were good looking either

Then we went to the Green Mango and had a boogie - that was pretty good although the music was average

The 11th was probably a mistake
we got up at about 11 for breakfast (thats 4 hours sleep)
which is fine if id have gone back to bed but I decided to then go and lie on the beach with Jules (it was a nice day)
So we chilled - in between her visits to go off and be sick
We caught up with Shaun as well who had disappeared early the previous night and he told us about his fishing career in Canada - 6 months on 6 months off sounds good to me
that night we had arranged to meet Jo and Gill at the Outback bar in Haad Rin for the England v Turkey match (they didnt show up) but James, Shaun, Dan, julia and I went down to see the crucial fixture
Saw Ireland get beat by Switzerland first
I was feeling better - in fact more chipper than the others cos i hadnt hit it hard the previous night - i got a bit pissed actually - the England match didnt kick off till midnight either so we didnt get back till about 2.30
Which brings us to the 10th - and that is the night of the full moon party...

The day was pretty much a non event for me - went into Thong Sala for some bits and then I had a sleep in the afternoon - which was the best move in hindsight cos I would never have lasted the night otherwise

Our group had expanded from the previous night to also include Dan from England and Shaun from Canada plus a few of the locals who were working at the "resort"

I made a decision early on not to drink cos i was still feeling rough and decided it would be better to see the whole night sober than start drinking, feel ill, throw up and go home early
Im glad I made that decision

The beach was much the same as the previous night - except for the fact that there were thousands of people there and less candles.

In fact it was quite different - early on there were fucked people rolling about in the sand and sleeping on the beach and later naked people wandering about

We walked up the beach and stopped at the Drum & Bass tent (well bar actually but i cant help calling them tents - even though there was no canvas in sight..)
Bit of a fluke really because Jo, Gill and some of their friends - including Joe's sister were all there - We had planned to meet up in Penang but had really not arranged where - On the beach at midnight
They had seen Anthony as well but we didnt which was a shame

So we danced a bit - wandered up and down the beach and ended up at the cafe at the top of the hill which served Magic Mushroom shakes - Up an extremely rickety staircase - designed presumably by some sadist who wanted to laugh at people who had just taken hallucinogenic drugs - indeed on the way down we had to save a guy who had fallen into a bush.
I wasnt touching the shakes cos i was feeling dodgy - Julia and James tried the foul looking concoction and didnt report any effects so it was probably a waste of money

We managed to make it down the stairs and wandered a bit more - Dan was playing spot the Ladyboy (and they were out in force) and we were wandering and dancing for the rest of the night.

It was good but I think Jules put it best when she said (intoxicated) "I feel very dispassionate about tonight"
It was a big party but the atmosphere wasnt quite right - whether it was too chilled or the music wasnt all that great or it was just too split up along the length of the beach (and perhaps not as busy as peak season) i dont know - but it wasnt the best party ive been to by any stretch (Glastonbury forever)

So it was good - the best bit was the (very sudden) sunrise - which took us all by suprise
and the fact that I stayed up till 7AM with no artificial stimulants whatsoever
Yay
go me
I am Hardcore
etc
